Cancer Staging & Monitoring

According to the American Cancer Society, 1 of every 4 deaths in the United States is caused by cancer, the second leading cause of death in the nation. When cancer is not controlled, it can be fatal. AccuSite PET/CT Imaging Center offers two services that play a vital role in controlling cancer, cancer staging and monitoring. Cancer staging is done for multiple reasons. This process determines the origin of the cancer, the extent of it, and the progression of the cancer to see if it has spread to other organs. Once this essential information is gathered, your doctors can then decide on a treatment program that best works for you. Cancer monitoring is done during your treatment program. It is performed every 3 to 6 months to monitor the response of your treatment program. Cancer staging and monitoring is an effective procedure because of its sensitive modality for tumor and lesion findings.

Heart Viability Scans

The #1 cause of death of women and men is Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), the most common type of heart disease today. Coronary arteries are blood vessels that supply oxygen-rich blood to your heart muscle. Due to various reasons, these arteries can gradually become blocked and unable to supply the heart muscle. Ultimately as CAD worsens, several conditions can develop, such as; angina, heart failure, or a heart attack. As a result of the conditions from CAD your heart's muscle might be damaged to an extent that even common procedures may not be able to detect. You could qualify for a heart transplant, bypass surgery or other procedures and not even know it. A Heart Viability Scan from AccuSite PET/CT Imaging Center is a non-invasive detailed scan that looks for viable heart tissue (damaged tissue). The effectiveness of this procedure is due to the sensitivity to viable tissue in the heart muscle. This will assist your doctor in determining what type of further treatments you could qualify for that may save your life.
